We make shirts for unstable systems, but shipping still has to obey the laws of time, production, carriers, addresses, and whatever else the universe decides to compile that day.

This Shipping Policy explains how orders are processed, produced, shipped, and delivered when you order from 404department.com.

2. How fulfillment works

404 Department uses print-on-demand fulfillment partners, including Printify and its connected print providers, to produce and ship products.

This means many items are made after an order is placed. Your shirt is not sitting in a warehouse waiting to be picked. It is produced, packed, and shipped by a partner once your order is confirmed.

Production and shipping times vary based on the product, the print provider, your location, and order volume.

3. Processing time

After you place an order, it usually takes about 2–5 business days for production before the item is shipped.

Processing time does not include shipping time. Processing is the time it takes to print, prepare, and pack the order.

During busy periods, launches, or high-volume drops, processing times may be longer. If that happens, we will communicate updates when possible.

4. Shipping methods and carriers

We ship through various carriers and print providers depending on your location and the product ordered.

Common carriers include:

  • USPS

  • UPS

  • FedEx

  • DHL

  • DPD

  • Other regional carriers used by our print partners

5. Shipping time

Shipping time begins after the order has been produced and handed to the carrier.

Estimated delivery times vary by location:

  • United States: about 3–5 business days after production

  • Canada and Mexico: about 5–10 business days after production

  • Europe: about 5–10 business days after production

  • Australia and New Zealand: about 7–14 business days after production

  • Other international: about 10–20 business days after production

These are estimates, not guarantees. Delivery times can be affected by carrier delays, customs, weather, holidays, or other events outside our control.

6. Shipping costs

Shipping costs are calculated at checkout based on your location, the product, the shipping method, and the print provider.

We do not control shipping rates directly. Rates are set by our fulfillment partners and carriers.

Shipping costs are non-refundable unless the return is due to an error, damaged item, defective item, or incorrect item.

7. Tracking

When your order ships, you will usually receive a shipping confirmation email with tracking information.

Tracking may take a short time to update after the carrier receives the package.

If you do not receive tracking within 7 business days of ordering, contact us and we will look into it.

8. Lost, stolen, or delayed packages

404 Department is not responsible for packages that are lost, stolen, or delayed after they have been handed to the carrier.

If a package is marked as delivered but you did not receive it, check with your household, neighbors, building management, or local carrier office first.

If the package appears lost or significantly delayed, contact us and we will do our best to help resolve the issue.

9. International shipping

International orders may be subject to customs fees, import duties, taxes, or other charges applied by the destination country.

These fees are the responsibility of the customer. We do not collect them at checkout.

Customs processing can also add extra delivery time.

10. Incorrect or undeliverable addresses
