1. Return requests

All return and refund requests must be submitted by email so we can properly review the order.
2. Return condition
Items must be returned in their original condition.
To be eligible for a return, the item must be:

Unwashed

Unused

Free of stains, odors, damage, or signs of wear

Returned with any original packaging or included materials when possible
If an item is returned used, damaged, washed, stained, or not in original condition, we may deny the refund or offer a partial refund at our discretion.
3. Damaged, defective, or incorrect items
If your item arrives damaged, defective, misprinted, or incorrect, email us as soon as possible at:

If the issue is confirmed, we may offer a replacement, refund, store credit, or another solution depending on the situation.
4. Buyer’s remorse and size issues
Because many 404 Department products may be made to order through print-on-demand fulfillment, returns for buyer’s remorse, wrong size, or change of mind may be limited.
Please review the product details and sizing information before placing your order.
We may still review return requests, but approval is not guaranteed.
5. Refund approval
Submitting a refund request does not automatically guarantee a refund.
Once your request is reviewed, we will let you know whether it has been approved or denied.
If approved, we will provide next steps for returning the item or processing the refund.
6. Refund processing
If a refund is approved, it will usually be issued back to the original payment method.
Refund processing times may vary depending on your bank, card provider, payment processor, or Shopify’s payment system.
Shipping costs may not be refundable unless the return is due to an error, damaged item, defective item, or incorrect item.
7. Return shipping
Customers may be responsible for return shipping costs unless the item is damaged, defective, incorrect, or the issue was caused by a fulfillment error.
We recommend using a trackable shipping method for returns. 404 Department is not responsible for return packages that are lost in transit.
8. Non-returnable items
